Join us as local authors and historians present historical topics of interest.

Lectures are held on the second Wednesday of the following months. The Program Committee has arranged for the following presentations to be held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.  The lecture series is sponsored by a grant from the Jenkinstown Lyceum and all programs are offered free of charge.  

October 12th: The Astronomical Achievements of David Rittenhouse by Barry Rauhauser, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Historical Society

November 9th: The Road to Valley Forge by Michael Jesberger

March 8th, 2023 – Wings Over Wyncote: The Story of the Wyncote Bird Club and the Work to Protect Birds by Leigh Altadonna

April 12th, 2023The Mines and Minerals of Montgomery County by Ron Sloto

May 10th, 2023Researching your Roots at the Office of the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Office by Jeanne Sorg

With the loosening of restrictions for the COVID-19 pandemic, the Society will once again be hosting lectures live and in-person at the John Barnes Room of Abington Friends Meeting, as well as virtually through Zoom.

Masks are recommended but not required to attend the lectures.
